Henrico County-based Genworth Financial Inc. said Monday that its wholly owned, indirect subsidiary Genworth Mortgage Insurance Corp., or GMICO, has completed the sale of its European mortgage insurance business to AmTrust Financial Services Inc. The sale was announced in October. Net proceeds of about $50 million will provide additional capital to GMICO, Genworth said. Comment?

Residential home sales and the prices for those homes rose in April from the same month a year ago, according to an April 2016 Homes Sales Report released Thursday by the Virginia Association of Realtors. In Virginia, 9,945 houses sold in April, up 8.46 percent from the same month a year ago, the association reported. Comment?
