Residential real estate sales volume is about 19.2% ahead of where it was in 2014, and the median price of those homes is up 4.6%, according to year-to-date data released by the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors . Changes that will affect the real estate closing process across the country will now take effect Oct. 3 instead of Aug. 1. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau extended the rule's effective date to allow more time for people to prepare for changes to the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Truth in Lending Act. “While thankful for the extension,” South Carolina Realtors continues to urge its members “to be aware of the changes coming in October so that there are no delays at the closing table,” CEO Nick Kremydas said.
