The number of homes sold in Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties along with their selling price increased in March, according to a report released Thursday. According to the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Report, 998 condominiums and single-family home were sold in Weld and Larimer counties in March, a 49 percent increase compared with the 670 that were sold in February and a 19 percent increase compared with the 840 that were sold in March of last year. Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman said Monday that more than 20,000 checks have been mailed to homeowners who she said were charged false and inflated foreclosure fees by law firm Aronowitz & Mecklenburg LLP. Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman announced Tuesday that $1 million collected from the National Mortgage Settlement would go to the Rose Andom Center, a joint effort by community organizations and government agencies to help domestic violence victims. The grant money, given this week in honor of National Crime Victims' Rights week, comes from a $25 billion agreement with the nation's five largest mortgage servicers to address mortgage loan servicing and foreclosure abuses.
