Year-over-year, closed sales for February in Trumbull County fell 10.6 percent, from 132 in 2016 to 118 last month, according to the Warren Area Board of Realtors. Pending sales jumped 16.5 percent, from 170 in February 2016 to 198 last month. Comment?

Monica Craven, executive director of the Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning Valley, spoke to members of the East Liverpool Rotary Club on Feb. 21. She directs a chapter that now includes all of Columbiana County along with Mahoning and Trumbull counties. She explained the merger was necessary in order to comply with requirements for mortgages, which have gotten more complex in recent years. Comment?

U.S. home resales fell more than expected in February amid a persistent shortage of houses on the market that is pushing up prices and sidelining prospective buyers. The National Association of Realtors said on Wednesday existing home sales declined 3.7 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.48 million units last month after hitting a 10-year high in January.
