While conditions could hardly be described as the worst of times for industrial real estate in the Greeley-Evans area, things are getting amazingly tight. Weld County, as a whole, has only a 1.7 percent vacancy rate for industrial properties, compared with a 5.2 percent vacancy rate for all of Northern Colorado. Comment?

The 2,215 homes sold in June represented a 10 percent increase over last year, and the median price broke $300,000 for the first time, hitting $305,000, an increase of 14.2 percent from June last year. For the first six months of the current year, home sales are up 8.3 percent, and the median price is up 14.9 percent, to $298,725. Comment?

Colorado Springs home prices rose again in the second quarter, although at a slightly slower rate than at the beginning of the year and the slowest of any metropolitan area in Colorado, according to a report this week by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Second quarter prices increased by 4.9 percent when compared with the same period last year, the agency's report showed. Comment?

Mortgage rates fell this week after market turmoil sent the yield on a 10-year Treasury briefly below 2 percent. Freddie Mac says a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.84 percent in the week ending August 27, down from 3.93 percent last week, and the lowest since May. A year ago, 30-year rates averaged 4.1 percent. Comment?
