Bill Haslam is launching a 15-stop tour of Tennessee, including in Chattanooga and Cleveland to discuss the transportation funding challenges as he considers a proposal to increase the state's gas tax for the first time in 25 years. According to the latest CoreLogic report, the foreclosure rate in the greater Memphis area for May 2015 was 0.94 percent, down from 1.1 percent in May 2014, and down from 0.97 percent in April 2015. For Tennessee, the May 2015 rate was 0.56 percent, down year-over-year from the May 2014 rate of 0.70 percent. Comment?

Mr. Carter had lost his home to a mortgage foreclosure. So seemingly out of blind rage - or at least the sort of anger that when coupled with ignorance leads one to do illogical things - he brought suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging that the responsible financial institutions didn't hold his note or the associated mortgage and thus had violated his rights under the federal Constitution.
