A report by the Illinois Association of Realtors shows some positive housing market momentum into September, with home sales and median prices experiencing healthy gains. In Macon County, numbers show that home sales were up 4.2 percent at 125 closed sales in September compared to 120 in September of 2014. Comment?

The Illinois Association of Realtors' numbers show that single family homes and condominium sales in April were at 12,822, up 6.6% from April 2014 when 12,032 homes were sold. Fifty out of the 102 counties in Illinois reported record sales gains for April 2014 over previous-year numbers, including Macon County, up 19.6% with 116 units sold. Comment?

The Bank of England said on Monday that it would phase out its Funding for Lending Scheme for small business lending over the next two years, rather than wind it up as previously planned at the end of January 2016.
