So now she's planning to list her condo for about $800,000 in the hopes of buying a house nearby for a similar price, according to Corcoran's Brooke Safford. Comment?

In Orange County, mortgage fee collections dropped from approximately $2.17 million in the first nine months of 2013 compared to the same period a year earlier to $1.16 million, for a decline of 46 percent. In Dutchess County, the county's mortgage tax revenue declined from $4,773,163 to $4,183,875 for the same period, a 12 percent difference. Comment?

Does anybody know what's going on with the giant vacant lot across from 491 Sterling, between Washington and Classon? Lately, a bulldozer has been spotted there, and yesterday I saw a lone guy digging a trench with a shovel. I would presume at some point this will be massive new apartment building? City records show that the tax lien was recently sold to the Bank of NY Mellon, and that the mortgage holder, Seaway Capital Corp has taken title to the land. Comment?

WHITE PLAINS – A Dutchess County woman was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to 51 months in prison and three years of supervised release for a series of frauds against the Internal Revenue Service and banks. Melanie Ferreira, 61, of Lagrangeville was convicted at trial of wire fraud, bank fraud, filing false claims with the IRS and obstructing and impeding internal revenue laws. Comment?
