Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today joined representatives from Bank of America and Citi to announce commitments by both companies to finance the construction or rehabilitation of more than 2,300 affordable housing rental units in New York City. The financial commitments, which arise out of the multi-million dollar settlements the Attorney General announced last summer, are aimed at helping New Yorkers that were hardest hit by the 2008 housing crash. Fifty-six affordable housing units are set to be built or preserved in Batavia as part of a settlement between New York state and two of the largest financial institutions in the country. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Wednesday that Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America will finance nearly $75 million for the construction and rehabilitation of 3,780 affordable housing units in New York state. Transactions of residential and commercial property in six major cities in Taiwan for the first half of this year registered a fall of up to 25 percent from a year earlier, reflecting uncertainty over government tax reform, statistics showed on Saturday.
