FEMA and the Fannin County Office of Emergency Management wants to make sure anyone who suffered damage to homes, farms, and businesses during the flooding, high winds, and tornado that occurred between May 15, 2015 and June 19, 2015, have the opportunity to register with FEMA to determine if they are eligible for assistance to meet disaster related needs. FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams were in Bonham and Fannin County the fist week of July canvassing neighborhoods and making contact in the areas most severely impacted. Comment?

Last December, the Executive Director of the Fannin County Children's Center got a call from a local attorney's office, requesting a meeting about someone's will. What she soon learned was that Bonham resident Doyle Ray Hammett, known as "DR" to his friends and family, had passed away in November and left the bulk of his estate to the Children's Center. Applications for U.S. home mortgages edged up last week while borrowing rates moved lower, an industry group said on Wednesday. The Mortgage Bankers Association said its seasonally adjusted index of mortgage application activity, which includes both refinancing and home purchase demand, rose 0.8 percent in the week ended July 24. The MBA's seasonally adjusted index of refinancing applications rose 1.6 percent, while the gauge of loan requests for home purchases, a leading indicator of home sales, dipped 0.1 percent. Comment?
