Dewyan Fitzgerald and Larry Ealy say they were not aware they were doing anything against the law and that they're being wrongfully profiled and targeted. Fitzgerald, who says he works in real estate and construction, was arrested after investigators say he filed fake paperwork to try to take ownership of a Warner Robins home and then moved in. CertusBank in Greenville, S.C., is setting the stage to liquidate itself after agreeing to sell or close all of its remaining branches. The $1.4 billion-asset bank said in a press release Monday that it will sell most of its Georgia and Florida branches to Community & Southern Bank in Atlanta. Comment?

Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta announced today that it has awarded $2.5 million to assist in the funding of five affordable housing initiatives in Georgia as part of its 2015 Affordable Housing Program . The awarded initiatives, which are located in Atlanta, Columbus, Cedartown, and Roswell, support the construction and rehabilitation of housing for veterans and very low- to moderate-income individuals. The Georgia Supreme Court has permitted a jury trial to determine whether the City of Atlanta illegally sold the building which housed the Peachtree-Pine homeless shelter in Midtown. The Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless, which has operated the shelter for approximately 15 years, defaulted on a $900,000 loan in 2010 and has been staving off eviction proceedings ever since.
