The number of home sales in Virginia fell in July from the same month a year ago, but remain above levels for July in 2013 and 2014, according to a report released Tuesday by the Virginia Association of Realtors. The median sales price statewide, with half the houses selling for more and half for less, was $278,000 in July, up 1.1 percent from a year ago but down from June, typically the busiest time of the year for home sales, when it hit $289,500, according to the July 2016 Home Sales Report.
