Even though home prices have increased in a more or less uninterrupted pattern since early 2012 a joint report form RealtyTrac and Clear Capital puts buying a home in the first quarter of 2015 at the most affordable level in two years. RealtyTrac analyzed Q1 2015 average weekly wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, average condo and single-family home prices taken from publicly recorded sales deed data in 582 U.S. counties, and average interest rates for 30 year fixed rate mortgages from Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey. Buying a home was at the most affordable level in two years in the first quarter of 2015 despite the average U.S. home price increasing at more than twice the pace of the average weekly wage nationwide over the past year, according to a joint report from Clear Capital and RealtyTrac. For the report RealtyTrac analyzed recently released first quarter 2015 average weekly wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and average prices for single family homes and condos derived from publicly recorded sales deed data collected by RealtyTrac in 582 U.S. counties with sufficient home price data. U.S. District Judge John Lee rejected HSBC's motion to dismiss the March 2014 lawsuit by Cook County, Illinois, which includes Chicago. Cook County alleged that several HSBC affiliates used sophisticated algorithms and software to steer thousands of black and Hispanic borrowers into subprime loans they often could not afford, even if they qualified for lower-cost loans. Oct 4 Saudi Arabia plans to convert a state-owned housing fund into a bank, the latest in a string of reforms to the economic policy apparatus announced since King Salman took the throne in January, as it struggles to address a shortage of affordable housing.
