A 100-page analysis of housing in Athens-Clarke County, focusing on workforce housing needs, has found "an increasing gap between income and housing cost" and a "severe deficit in new housing that is most desired by the workforce." The study by Atlanta-based APD Solutions Consulting, a community development and economic development firm, goes on to suggest a number of strategies for ensuring that a larger percentage of the county's workforce can actually live in the community where they work. A Greenville real estate agent is warning other agents to be careful about how their information is shared on the Internet after she and other Upstate agents received phone calls from a man who threatened violent sex crimes against family members. The agent said she got a call early Monday from a man who said he had a family member, whose he mentioned by name, and her child, and that if she did not do what he wanted her to, he was going to rape them.
