A home security system helped Montgomery County sheriff's investigators make quick work of a suspected burglary after they distributed sharp images of three men entering a Charleston residence who were then identified early Wednesday. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department said the home's security system captured the images of the suspects as they entered the house twice, according to Investigator Joseph P. Kilmartin . Some 600 property owners have been identified as delinquent on their property taxes on a foreclosure list that is expected to be submitted to Montgomery County by the end of the month. Before that happens, however, Amsterdam Controller Matthew Agresta is giving owners one last opportunity to pay their back taxes or at least enter a payment agreement. Comment?

Complex analysis of high finance doesn't get a lot of clicks, but how Moody's Investors Services, Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's Financial Services - the Big Three - rank Louisiana is of utmost importance, not only to taxpayers but to Gov. The number of sales and price of Hamptons' homes dropped in the second quarter of 2015, according to new a report released Thursday. Some 590 transactions took place totalng $931 million in the quarter, representing a 16% decline in number of sales and a 14% drop in total dollars spent in the same period last year, according to the report by by Douglas Elliman Real Estate and appraisal firm Miller Samuel Inc. Median price for all homes also fell by 7% to $849,000 in the quarter. Comment?

Purchases of previously owned homes climbed 3.2 percent in June to a 5.49 million annualized rate, the strongest since February 2007, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
