After a slow start to the year, sales of existing homes in North Texas got a boost in March to drive year-to-date numbers up 4 percent from last year. Last month, 7,854 homes were sold in North Texas, up 12 percent from a year ago, according to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. Comment?

Tarrant County commercial real estate professionals are preparing for some office tenants to walk away from leases if oil prices continue to decline and companies layoff employees. "My concern is not for the large energy companies, it's for the mid-level upstream companies and the service companies," said David Walters an executive vice president in Jones Lang LaSalle's Fort Worth office. Watford City, N.D.'s oil-invested construction boom is going gangbusters this spring, with no obvious sign that drilling has slowed by half in the oil patch. New construction rings the city, which now takes in roughly a 5-mile square with an extra-territorial zoning footprint the size of Minot, N.D.
