MotoGP Weight & ECU Updates for 2015

The Grand Prix Commission has announced two technical regulation changes which will take effect in 2015. First is a reduction in the minimum weight of the machines, down two kilograms from 160 kg to 158 kg.

Bautista Signs with Aprilia Gresini MotoGP

Aprilia Racing have announced that Alvaro Bautista signed a two-year contract to ride for the Aprilia Gresini Racing Team starting when the marque returns to the grid in 2015. Bautista got his start in the premier class with Suzuki but switched to Gresini Honda for the 2012 season.

Ramdan Receives Wild Card Ticket For Malaysian MotoGP

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 -- Malaysian motorsports promoter Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd today named Ramdan Rosli as the second Malaysian wild card rider for the upcoming Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. The 18-year-old Ramdan, who is currently competing in the FIM CEV Repsol Championship Moto3 category, will join Hafiza Rofa when the race gets underway at Sepang Circuit from Oct 24 to 26. "Hafiza was revealed as our first wildcard at the official launch recently.

Hafizh Secures 25th Starting Grid At San Marino GP Qualifying Session

From Ali Imran Mohd Noordin SAN MARINO, Sept 14 -- Malaysian Moto2 rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah of Petronas Raceline Malaysia, Saturday, secured 25th grid position in San Marino World Motorcycle Grand Prix Championship at Misano World Circuit. After Friday's superb race where he clocked the third best time during free practice on a wet track, Hafizh clocked 1:39:670s, 13:394 seconds faster but failed to achieve his goal to start in the top 20. "I'm pretty upset as it wasn't raining but there was a slight problem with the bike's suspension that effects the grip and breaking precision, making it difficult for me to take corners properly.

DRIVE M7 Aspar Team MotoGP - 13 GP San Marino - FP

Sixteen degrees and constant rain were not the conditions the MotoGP riders were hoping for as the series landed on the Adriatic coast of Italy today but it proved to be a cold and wet start to the GP of San Marino. More than half the riders in the field suffered crashes today, seemingly due to the fact that they were forced to use the harder wet tyre due to there not being sufficient quantities of the soft option.

Rain sets the pace as Misano MotoGP begins

There was little fun to be had today by the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders in the first two practice sessions for Sunday's 'Grand Prix di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini' at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Persistent rain throughout the day meant both Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi had their wet riding skills tested to the max on the treacherously slippery track.
