The Grand Prix Commission has announced two technical regulation changes which will take effect in 2015. First is a reduction in the minimum weight of the machines, down two kilograms from 160 kg to 158 kg.

Aprilia Racing have announced that Alvaro Bautista signed a two-year contract to ride for the Aprilia Gresini Racing Team starting when the marque returns to the grid in 2015. Bautista got his start in the premier class with Suzuki but switched to Gresini Honda for the 2012 season.

Marc VDS has succeeded in its quest to run Scott Redding on a Factory class Honda in MotoGP next season. The young Englishman had been due to step-up from Open to Factory machinery with Gresini, but the Italian team is ending its long association with Honda to become Aprilia's official team.

Valentino Rossi won the San Marino Grand Prix on Sunday, at his home track, after MotoGP world championship leader Marc Marquez fell. Rossi clocked a time of 44 minutes, 14.586 seconds to finish 1.578 seconds ahead of Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo for his first victory of the season.

"I'm pretty upset as it wasn't raining but there was a slight problem with the bike's suspension that effects the grip and breaking precision, making it difficult for me to take corners properly.

Marc Marquez heads to San Marino with a chance to equal Mick Doohan's record of 12 race wins in a single season as the 2014 MotoGP season heads to the tiny state for the 13th event of the year. Repsol Honda have dominated the race calendar but will face a different challenge at Misano, as the technical track will give their riders less of an advantage.
Sixteen degrees and constant rain were not the conditions the MotoGP riders were hoping for as the series landed on the Adriatic coast of Italy today but it proved to be a cold and wet start to the GP of San Marino. More than half the riders in the field suffered crashes today, seemingly due to the fact that they were forced to use the harder wet tyre due to there not being sufficient quantities of the soft option.
