First ever meeting reveals severe staff shortages at south Mississippi prison
For the first time ever, a citizens advisory committee went inside the walls of the South Mississippi Correctional Institution for a meeting with new prison superintendent Joe Errington. Superintendent Errington talked about new security measures in place at the prison.

Finally a Superintendent that cares and commits bo Community, Staff and also to being, fair and respectful to everyone including the Inmates. SMCI will be a much better Facility under his control. In time, he will make wrongs right again and ensure all Staf and Unmates follow MDOC Polucy and Procedures or there will be consequences. Given time, he will correct the Staffibg issues effectively. Such change cannot happen instantly. I have faith in Superintendant Erington. He's the best that could happen at SMCI. If MDOC will supply his needs as Suoerintendant, SMCI will become MDOC's best Prison.
