Two in running for open Snow Hill seat

Two candidates will compete to represent the Western District on Snow Hill's Town Council in the upcoming town election on Tuesday, May 7. Michael Pruitt and C. Monte Campbell are running to replace incumbent councilman Gerald Shockley, who is not seeking re-election because he is moving out of town.

Parolee in jail charged with convenience store robbery

A Kinston father who was freed from prison six months ago after state correctional officers approved him for parole returned to court Wednesday morning on the same charge that sent him away for the past decade - common law robbery.
