As the Piscataquis County commissioners ponder the economy and the possibility it may be no better in future years, they are weighing whether to ask the sheriff and chief deputy to use their own cars in 2011 rather than county-issued vehicles.

There is an effort afoot to change the oversight of solitary confinement in Maine's state prisons.

"We're thinking that because of the economy people are going to see even more value to everything that they get at the Folk Festival and make a whole weekend of it," said Heather McCarthy, Executive Director of the American Folk Festival.
