The city's mayor, Ashley Swearengin, said as much during a press the conference at the Save Mart Center last month announcing the April 13 show, which kicks off his "One on One" tour. She was there to proclaim April 13 as Paul McCartney Day in Fresno, proving the gravity of the visit.

On Tuesday, Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearingen named Mark Scott , current city manager of Culver City, as the new city manager for Fresno, replacing Andy Souza, a hold over from former Mayor Alan Autry's administration, who resigned. Scott is a native Fresnan who graduated from Fresno High School, earned his bachelors degree in Public Administration from California State University, Fresno and his masters degree in Business Administration from Stanford University.
