If they legalize pot, we'll have less illegal aliens, and the good people of Marin wouldn't want that. Who would do all their landscaping? What are we to do?

How do you figure?

Sounds like you're employing "pot logic" to me.

This sort of environmental damage could be avoided if we would just legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana for adults to use as a healthier alternative to alcohol.

If you want marijuana to be legalized, taxed, and regulated for adults, YOU can make it happen. Tell your legislators to support California Assembly Bill 390. It's easy. yes390.org

Chemicals? These 'chemicals' are as bad for the environment as any fertilizer on any farm in america. Hell, many of these outdoor grow ops are 100% organic.

Legalize it and let people grow it in their backyard, then immigrants wouldn't disturb the precious state land. The same state land they want to drill for oil on and the same state land that they are cutting from the budget.

it's just the bail. you'll get a lot less time (actually none) for building the trail than growing.

Reminds me of the time I was looking for a plane crash on Mt. Tam. I had asked the ranger where it was the previous weekend, but got the wrong directions. I found a book with the location in it, and proceeded up the trail, but still couldn't find it. I see a guy just off the trail doing some gardening, and he gave me perfect directions where to find the crash site.

Afterwards I visited the ranger station and told the ranger the gardener helped me find the crash. His reply: "This is a park. We don't have gardeners."

Could have been worse. The gardener was just growing a personal stash. Often these big operations are run by very dangerous people.

Legalize it for adults. Focus on keeping it away from minors.

$8.8 million dollars worth of pot, POLLUTING, etc. and he gets $5k as his bond amount? Give me an f'in break. This guy is illegal - if that doesn't add up to a flight risk, what does? I cannot believe the judges in Marin. Why not just tell the guy tsk tsk and let him go home? Is is working alone? Is he with the extremely violent drug cartels? Why don't we just give them an invitation to move in - that's right, we already have, apparently.

Does anybody realize the latinos are fall guys? They're just doin' what they're told. Who is really runnning this operation and causing the environmental damage? Your neighbor, sending his kids to private school and drinking fine wines. Also has the laundry business downtown.
