North Wales man dies in Nepal paragliding tragedy
Michael Peter Blanchard, who was the husband of Ruthin pharmacist Miriam Blanchard, was killed in the Himalayan country on Sunday, January 22. Mr Blanchard, who was thought to be in his late 60s, is understood to have been in a paragliding accident which led to his death on the day after he arrived in the country. According to local reports, the incident took place in Pokhara in the Kaski district north-west of the capital Kathmandu, and Mr Blanchard died at Metro City Hospital in Pokhara.
