    Former Journal News Editor CynDee Royle Dies At 57

    CynDee Royle, "a fierce advocate for the public's right to know who guided lohud and The Journal News into the digital age," died on Saturday, Feb. 6, at age 57 following a years-long battle with lung cancer, reported The Journal News. Royle was The Journal News' vice president of news/editor until she stepped down in 2014 as a result of her illness.

    Jeanne W. Tribbitt, former governor's widow

    Jeanne Webb Tribbitt, 93, of Rehoboth, formerly of Odessa, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach. Jeanne graduated from Middletown High School in 1940 and then attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va.

    Alfred John Raffio Sr., a beloved member of the New Rochelle community and U.S. veteran, passed away on January 10, 2016 at Saint Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE at the age of 85. Mr. Raffio was born on May 6, 1931 in New Rochelle, NY to parents Emilio Raffio and Carmellia Raffio Spalleno. Mr. Raffio was employed by the Ursuline School of New Rochelle for many years, touching the lives of countless students, teachers and faculty members with his humor, care, and pride of work.

    Thelma J. Rowland, founded Lewes art show

    Thelma, also known by her grandchildren as Sonie, was born in her grandparents' home on what is now known as Beaver Dam Road. On Sundays, Thelma and her family would travel two miles in a horse-drawn carriage to worship at Saint George's Chapel and it was there that she was baptized and confirmed.

    Construction Worker Falls in Delaware River, Dies

    According to a spokeswoman for the Philadelphia Police Department, police were called to Pier 78 last night around 8:30 p.m. when a co-worker returned from a break and spotted the man's hard hat and goggles floating in the Delaware River. A police marine unit retrieved the man from the river around 9:30 p.m. and took him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:33 p.m. The Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 50-year-old John Johnson of Wilmington, Del.
