    Robert E. Hatch, 88, Fairfield Resident

    Noted historic restoration architect, Robert E. "Bob" Hatch, died Wednesday, Jan. 27 at The Carolton Center after an extended battle with MDS, a blood disorder. He was 88. He was born in Bridgeport in May 1927, to Elwin Lloyd Hatch and Eloise Hynes Hatch.

    Truck driver killed in I-95 crash

    A tractor-trailer struck Interstate 95's Sasco Creek Road bridge near the Fairfield-Westport border late Friday morning, killing the driver. The crash, between the highway's Exits 18 and 19, shut down the right and center northbound lanes back to Exit 17 shortly before noon, while firefighters from Fairfield and Westport extricated the driver from the truck cab.

    Vigil to Honor Christopher Lanni

    A group of Westport parents has organized a vigil on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at Jesup Green to honor Staples High School freshman Christopher Lanni. Christopher, 14, died Dec. 23, and last week his parents asked school authorities to investigate whether he had been a victim of bullying.

    Students at Staples High School in Westport returned from their winter break to the sad news of the death of one of their own, according to a report in the Westport News. Wrestling team member and Boy Scout Christopher Lanni, 14, died on Wednesday, Dec 23, in at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Westport News said.
