    Vallejo man to serve decades in prison for stabbing friends

    During an emotional proceeding Wednesday morning, a convicted killer apologized to the victims' families before receiving a lengthy prison sentence. Solano County Superior Court Judge Dan Healy sentenced Cameron Wiess, 35, to serve 36 years to life in California State prison for the second-degree murder, and 27 years for the attempted murder. 11 comments

    Schools were always a high priority for local residents since the first one opened here in the early 1850s. There was virtually never a time when Sonomans were not being asked to donate or pay taxes for new schools, buildings and renovations.

    Fremont woman's death 'a mystery' as family grieves,...

    Nearly three weeks after Kalbir Dhillon was found floating in the bay near Burlingame, details of her final hours remain scarce, frustrating investigators and her grieving family. Dhillon, 44, was last seen alive in Fremont around 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, and was found dead in the Peninsula city at 9:48 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19. Burlingame police are trying to find out what happened in that nearly 40-hour period that might have led to her death, but few answers have been discovered.
