    A time of viewing will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Umpqua Valley Funeral Directors, 693 NE Stephens, Roseburg, OR, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Roseburg Memorial Gardens with full military honors. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the church on Kane and Lane.

    Group arranges proper burials for abandoned babies

    Land at a Roseburg cemetery will be dedicated in a public ceremony this month, in preparation for its future as a resting place for abandoned children who have died or been stillborn. It all started a few months ago, when Carol Hunt began worrying about what happens to the remains of abandoned babies who die.

    Virginia "Jane" Weisz

    The Lord called Jane home to join her husband and family in the early hours of the morning on July 26, 2018. Virginia "Jane" Weisz was the youngest of ten children born to Herman and Mary Schulze on August 25, 1922.
