Highly decorated, retired NASA astronaut James Halsell Jr. faces two counts of murder after a car crash near Tuscaloosa, Ala., killed two girls, aged 11 and 13. Preliminary investigations showed alcohol and speed may have been factors in the accident. The bare Texas landscape had long faded to Louisiana's waterways, then Mississippi's dense walls of pine trees. Comment?
