    Mayor, Tulsans Pay Respects To City Councilor David ...

    Tulsans can pay their respects to the late Tulsa City Council Chairman, David Patrick, who unexpectedly passed away last week. David Patrick, 68, served as District 3 city councilor for more than two decades and made a huge impact on Tulsa.  He was not running for re-election.

    Visitation is open to the public Wednesday after 11:30 a.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 6500 South 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.  Then on Thursday, September 20th, services will be held in his honor at 10 a.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home chapel with his burial to follow.

    Video released of altercation with man who died days...

    The Tulsa Police Department on Saturday released body camera footage showing a 25-year-old man being tased by officers last month during an encounter inside a downtown bank. Three days after the altercation, the man died in a local hospital.

    Debate over Confederate statues is far from over

    A crowd of nearly 250 protestors took down the statue known as Silent Sam on the eve of the new school year. According to a school website, the statue was built in 1913 and was put up to commemorate Confederate soldiers from the university, "who died for their beloved Southland" during the Civil War.

    Sara Jane Shaw, 29, of Houtzdale, and formerly of Patton, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 as the result of an auto accident. Surviving are her father, Eric Shaw; her mother, Linda Reimer Shaw of Patton; a brother, David Shaw of Carrolltown; a brother, Charles Shaw and a brother Eric Shaw, Jr., both of Ebensburg; a sister, Malynda Reimer of Imlay, Mich.; a sister, April Shaw of Tulsa, Okla.; and her companion, Timothy Davies of Houtzdale.
