    Topeka police confirmed to The Capital-Journal Friday night the identity of a 14-month-old girl who, according to authorities, was beaten on Monday and died from her injuries on Thursday. Michael John Guerrero, 26, of Topeka, was charged with felony first-degree murder on Thursday morning in connection with Leah's death.

    Victim identified in North Topeka suspicious death

    The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office have identified the person who died Sunday night from apparent gunshot wounds in North Topeka. Twenty-nine-year-old Dustin C. McKinney of Topeka has been identified as the person who died.
