    Tampa minister Vicki Walker, who lives on the east side of the Hillsborough River, did not witness the abandonment of a 4-year-old girl in the water by a mother Thursday but saw its aftermath. A woman later identified as Shekayla Denson came out of the water and sat on the opposite bank.

    Shoes can be seen under a car that Shakayla Denson stole and then parked near the Hillsborough River on Thursday, Tampa police said. Denson is accused of taking her 4-year-old daughter Je'Hyrah Daniels from the car to the river and leaving her there to die.

    Tampa canoe crash near Davis Islands injures two

    One person is dead and another is hospitalized after their vessel crashed into wooden pylons just off the shore of Davis Islands, near the intersection of Channel Drive and Cayuga Avenue, on Sunday afternoon. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a witness said that both individuals ended up in the water the after the boat - a 15-foot Gheenoe - struck the pylons.

    Girl, 4, dies after presumed momdumps her in Hillsbo...

    A 4-year-old girl died Thursday afternoon after a woman believed to be her mother threw her into the Hillsborough River, according to Tampa police. Multiple witnesses reported seeing the incident near 4 p.m. on the west bank north of the Columbus Drive Bridge.

    Two police officers and a bicyclist were taken to a hospital Wednesday night after being involved in a vehicle crash, officials said. The incident took place at about 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of E Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and N Suwanee Avenue, just east of N Florida Avenue in Seminole Heights, according to Tampa police.
