    Don Barber, the founder of a rock and roll band popular in Syracuse in the 1960s, died Saturday from injuries suffered in an all-terrain vehicle accident. Barber, 75, of Homer, was a well-known musician and recording artist in the area for almost 60 years, touring and recording with Don Barber and the Dukes.

    A Syracuse man died Thursday after a box truck struck his broken-down car on the New York State Thruway. Arthur L. Hunter, 26, of Syracuse, was killed around 2:30 a.m. in a crash on Interstate 90 west in Verona, Oneida County, said the New York State Police.
