    Shane McGowan

    Shane McGowan of Amsterdam, New York passed away tragically with his wife and good friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 30. Shane was born to Sheila McGarvey and Dr. Randy T. McGowan on March 6, 1988 in Greenwich, Connecticut. He attended local schools graduating from Amsterdam High School in 2006 and went on to attend Sage College where he graduated with his bachelor's degree.

    Man from Staten Island, 68, dies during skydiving jump

    A former Bulls Head resident died Tuesday after suffering a heart ailment during a skydiving jump in California, officials said. Peter Zimmerli, 68, was fine when he jumped out of the plane, but had a medical emergency on the way down, according to a sergeant at the Riverside Coroner's Office.

    Shooting of beloved woman, 67, formally deemed homicide

    The fatal shooting of 67-year-old Frances Williams after a gang-related melee near the Staten Island Courthouse in July has formally been classified a homicide, according to police. No arrests have been made and the police investigation continues in the shooting of the beloved New Brighton resident on July 10 at about 12:28 p.m. on the 300 block of Jersey Street a couple of blocks from her home, according to an NYPD statement.
