    The beloved 67-year-old woman who was shot on Jersey Street after a gang-related melee by the courthouse last month has died, the Advance has learned. Frances E. Williams, of New Brighton, died Aug. 2 at Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, according to an obituary posted by the Stradford Funeral Home.

    A reputed Staten Island mobster nicknamed "Porky" was sprung from prison because his jailhouse diet was affecting his deteriorating health, authorities said. A federal judge on Monday released John Zancocchio, 60, an alleged made member and consigliere in the Bonanno crime family, from the Metropolitan Correctional Center and placed him on home detention with GPS monitoring while he seeks medical attention before his impending trial, according to court documents.

    Guy V. Molinari, a longtime New York politician and power broker whose pugnacious style often led to feuds with fellow Republicans, has died at the age of 89. His son-in-law, former U.S. Rep. Bill Paxon, said Molinari died of pneumonia Wednesday in a Manhattan hospital. Molinari, a lifelong resident of Staten Island, New York City's most conservative borough, served as a state assemblyman and five-term congressman in the 1980s.
