    Louis Tinucci, stalwart of the east metro restaurant...

    Louie Tinucci got his first taste of the restaurant business as a high schooler in the 1940s, peeling potatoes at Rossini's Bar & Cafe in downtown St. Paul. He and his wife later opened the Newport eatery that bears their name and is still operated by their sons.

    Officers, Man Involved in St. Paul Shooting Identified

    Four St. Paul Police Department officers who fired their weapons during a shooting Monday and the man fatally shot in the incident have been identified. According to a preliminary investigation, a woman had entered the towing business near where the shooting eventually took place, followed by a man.

    Smith, 33, of St. Paul, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension , which is investigating the shooting. Police shot Smith about 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Buffalo Street after he fired on them and ignored repeated orders to drop his weapon, said the BCA news release.
