    Man dies after Mission Beach building fire

    One of the two people injured in Tuesday's fire that engulfed second-floor residential units above a Mission Beach ice cream shop has died, according to the Medical Examiners office. According to the Medical Examiner, the 36-year-old male died Tuesday night from his injuries.

    Bill Coors, a pioneer in the American brewing industry and former chairman of the Adolph Coors Company, died peacefully at his home Saturday at 102. Bill Coors began working for his grandfather Adolph's brewing company in 1939.

    Autopsy details McLaren crash on I-805

    SAN DIEGO - An autopsy performed on the teenager known as McSkillet is providing details about his mental state before he crashed his McLaren on Interstate 805 in San Diego, killing a mother and daughter. Trevor Heitmann, 18, died on August 23 when he drove the wrong way on the freeway in University City at 100 miles an hour.

A Caltrans crew was performing landscaping and street-sweeping on southbound SR-163 when one of the workers fell about 50 feet, landing on a grassy area near the transition road to Interstate 805.

    Five people overdosed - including three who died - last weekend after taking cocaine laced with fentanyl in two beach communities, authorities said Friday as they warned that more of the deadly drug may still be on the street, and not just in cocaine. But in giving the warning, District Attorney Summer Stephan said officials are "seeing a a dangerous trend of drug dealers and cartels cutting various drugs with fentanyl."

    Woman drives car into bank in Rancho San Diego

    A car smashed into a bank in Rancho San Diego on Monday when the driver reportedly mistook the gas pedal for the brake. The woman driving hit the gas by mistake as she was approaching the Bank of America branch located at 2930 Jamacha Road.
