    Marcia M. Eisenhauer, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late A. Norman and Mabel Forbush, and lived there for much of her young life.

    Richard S. Ross, a leader of Johns Hopkins School of...

    Richard S. Ross, a prominent cardiologist who served as dean of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1975 to 1990 and oversaw massive growth in construction and recruiting at the research center, died Aug. 11 at his home in Baltimore. He was 91. Dr. Ross, who president of the American Heart Association in the early 1970s, made important contributions to coronary research.

    Benton Becker, man who negotiated Nixon pardon, dies...

    Benton L. Becker, who as President Gerald R. Ford's personal emissary negotiated the pardon of Richard M. Nixon in 1974 and preserved his White House papers and tapes from what Becker predicted would have otherwise been "a hell of a bonfire in San Clemente," where Nixon lived, died on Aug. 2 in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was 77. While it obviated what surely would have been a punishing trial, the pardon never healed the nation as fully as Ford had hoped, and it probably cost him the 1976 election.

    Benton L. Becker, who acted as the liaison between President Gerald R. Ford and his predecessor, Richard M. Nixon, during the delicate negotiations that led to Ford's pardon of Nixon in September 1974, died Aug. 2 at his home in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 77. Mr. Becker was perhaps an unlikely choice to carry out such a high-level mission during one of the most sensitive moments in presidential history.
