    3 bodies recovered in major San Marcos fire

    The blaze was first reported around 4:30 a.m. at the Iconic Village Apartments in the 200 block of Ramsay Street. One building was fully engulfed in flames, and another building in the complex was also damage.

In 1958, he graduated from Carthage High School and attended the University of Houston.

    Gatesville Police Chief Nathan Gohlke confirmed one person has died and 15 people were injured after an explosion at Coryell Memorial Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Everyone injured was a construction worker for Lochridge-Priest, working on a $42 million expansion project.

    DEATH OF JOHN WEVER: Mrs. M. D. Drain received word of the death of her step-father, John Wever, at the hospital at Watertown where he has been a patient for two years, Mr. Wever had attained the age of 80years and had spent practically all of that time in this community where he was highly respected by all. Although feeble and frail in health for some time, he and his wife continued to live on his farm here until two years ago this spring they moved to Kirkwood where he was permitted to live only a short time as his condition became such that he was taken to Watertown.

    One dead, at least 12 hurt after explosion at Coryel...

    Officials said the explosion happened after 2 p.m. in a new construction area at the hospital and that the victims were construction workers. A hospital spokesperson who was in a meeting at the time described the explosion as a "tremendous blast" and that "it felt like a bomb exploded."

    Eight men who died serving their county but whose remains have not been claimed by family on Thursday received the support of countless West Texans. Dozens of veterans and people from the community came out Thursday morning to the Love's travel stop on Regis Street and FM 2641 to welcome a caravan of vets and law enforcement as they made a pit-stop in Lubbock as part of their journey carrying cremated remains from Amarillo to a memorial cemetery in San Antonio.
