The Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Thursday Carson City Deputy Carl Howell and suspect Jonathon Pope both died of gunshot wounds on Aug. 15, but the autopsy report offered no other details with additional tests still pending. The two men died Aug. 15 after Howell, 35, responded to a domestic disturbance call at the 4100 block of Montez Drive. Comment?

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Thursday a drowning death that was reported in June is alcohol-related. Officials said they initially responded to the report of a drowning at Topaz Lake along the north shore of the lake on June 17. According to a statement the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the autopsy indicated 36-year-old Janneke Strong's drowning death was due to alcohol intoxication. Comment?
