    Connie L. Fox, of Homeworth, formerly of Fairview Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, passed away at 2:39 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, in Hamrick Home Hospice of Okeechobee, Florida, after a brief illness while she was staying in Florida. She was 75. Mrs. Fox was a 1959 graduate of Lakeview High School and then graduated from Indian River Community College in Ft.

    Edwin Pope, an award-winning sports columnist who covered the first 47 Super Bowls and spent more than 50 years with the Miami Herald, died Jan. 19 in Okeechobee, Fla., where he lived in retirement. He was 88. Mr. Pope went into the newspaper business at age 11, was a sports editor at 15 and joined the Herald in 1956.
