A 23-year-old woman's death inside her Chicago Lawn apartment building Friday afternoon has been reclassified as a death investigation after police initially considered it a homicide. Officers were called about noon to the building in the 6300 block of South Fairfield, where they found Quina L. Jackson unresponsive on a couch, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Comment?

Emily's doctor and parents speak to middle schoolers about pediatric cancer in preparation for "Gobble Gobble, Run or Waddle" 5K on Nov. 21. Emily Beazley, who was 12 when she passed away this May of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, lives on in the hearts and minds of her South Side neighbors. As students at St. Linus School in Oak Lawn prepare for the upcoming 5K on Nov. 21, the middle schoolers got a take away message on the importance of children advocating for other children with cancer. A 21-year-old man who was shot earlier this month in the Chatham community on the South Side has died, authorities said Monday. Malek Taylor, of the 9500 block of South Forest Avenue, was pronounced dead at 2:01 p.m. Friday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Comment?
