    Developer behind the White Barn project dead at 64

    James Fieber, the real estate developer behind attempts to develop the historic White Barn Theater property in Norwalk and the former Schlichting House property in Wilton, died on Saturday night after a six-month battle with lung cancer. Since 1984, Fieber headed his family-owned real estate investment business, The Fieber Group.

Born in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Russell and Mary Fairchild and grandson of the late Lester and Rosalie Fairchild. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1979.

    Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has ordered all U.S. and state flags in the state be lowered to half-staff in honor of a state police trooper from Norwalk who died Thursday. Connecticut State Police Trooper First Class Walter Greene died "following a courageous battle with cancer as the result of his response and service in support of New York City in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001," Malloy said in a statement.
