    John Pritchard III, Tenacious Law Enforcement Leader...

    John S. Pritchard III, a tenacious investigator whose law enforcement career spanned more than three decades and six agencies in New York, involving some of the most notorious crimes of that era, died on Thursday in Port St. Lucie, Fla. He was 75. Mr. Pritchard began as a beat cop and eventually broke ground for black people in the top ranks of the New York City Police Department.
