    Jones, Lisa

    God awoke to the sound of a new voice in the angels' morning "Hallelujah Chorus" on Tuesday: "Ahh... I see Lisa Jones has checked in; definitely a joyous new sound." Despite facing enormous struggles, Lisa moved forward through life with incredible resilience and determination to overcome; she did so with contagious love and humor.

    Vigil memorializes Parise, other domestic violence v...

    Staff and supporters of Safe Futures light their candles Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, during a vigil in memory of Robert Parise and all victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking in New London. Parise, a client of Safe Futures, allegedly was murdered by his ex-partner on Oct. 4. New London - Joseph Parise lit a candle in memory of his brother, and flames were shared among the hundred or so people gathered outside on Jay Street until each person's candle was aglow.

    Jane Glover, 'trailblazer' in New London politics, dies

    Jane Glover, then chief administrative officer for New London, is seen in this Feb. 24, 2012, file photo. New London - Jane Louise Glover, who served three times as New London's ceremonial mayor and later as chief administrative officer for the city's first elected mayor in almost a century, died Saturday at age 71.  Glover was remembered by city leaders this week for her political acumen and efforts to improve the lot of all city residents.
