    The Chicago Tribune reports that the proposed addition is part of a $4 billion project to rebuild and widen a 22-mile portion of I-294. The highway stretches from near the Wisconsin state line through Chicago's western suburbs to near the Indiana state line.

    A federal district judge in Washington has ruled that a group of nearly 200 Democratic senators and representatives have legal standing to sue President Donald Trump to prove he violated the U.S. Constitution's emoluments provision banning the acceptance of gifts from foreign and domestic interests. The U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan on Friday found that lawmakers have adequately shown that they've suffered harm from the president's alleged violation of the emoluments clause, which prohibit government officials from accepting benefits from foreign governments unless a majority of both houses of Congress consent.

    Central Wis. Airport gets $4 million to replace boar...

    Central Wisconsin Airport received a $4 million federal grant to replace four boarding bridges used to load passengers onto planes, Airport Director Brian Grefe said Friday. The project, including new LED lights where the planes are loaded, will cost $4.3 million and the majority of the work will be done beginning next spring, he said.

    A student brought an "airsoft pistol" to Northland Pines Middle and High School and hid it in a bathroom Friday morning, Vilas County Sheriff Joe Fath said. The pistol, made of plastic and metal pieces, closely resembles a handgun but does not meet the definition of a firearm, the sheriff said in a statement.

    Vets home transfers would create $19 million deficit

    A new report shows the state Department of Veterans Affairs would drive its veterans homes into the red if lawmakers approve its request to continue diverting money from the homes to a trust fund. The DVA has diverted tens of millions in surplus revenue from Wisconsin's three veterans homes to shore up the veterans trust fund, which supports veterans programs.

    Drunken driver sentenced for crashing into sheriffa ...

    A Neenah man accused of crashing into a Winnebago County sheriff's vehicle while driving drunk has been sentenced to nine months in jail and fined $600. WLUK-TV reports that 60-year-old Harold Strozewski on Wednesday pleaded no contest to one count of drunken driving causing injury, and other charges were dismissed.

    A service to celebrate the life of Ann Porath, 81, will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the church Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

    The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 151 in Taycheedah. According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the motorcycle was trying to pass the tractor and the tractor started turning into a field.

    William Albert Scanlon

    He was born in Neenah, WI on July 17, 1928, the son of William and Estella Scanlon. He graduated from Bethel Academy in 1946, and attended Emmanuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs, MI, until he was drafted into the Army.
