    Fire crews continue to report good progress in battling the Steele Fire, which has destroyed seven buildings, damaged another and burned 150 acres in the Berryessa Highlands area at the southern tip of Lake Berryessa in rural Napa County. The fire was 50 percent contained as of this morning, according to Cal Fire, up from 10 percent Saturday night.

    Pathway Home, Where Three Clinicians Died In March, ...

    The Pathway Home, which from 2008 until last March provided mental health therapy for veterans at a facility on the grounds of the California Veterans Home, will not reopen after a shooting that killed the center's director, a psychologist and a therapist. The Pathway Home had been closed since the March 9 shooting, when a veteran receiving mental health services there shot the three women before killing himself, according to a spokesman for The Pathway Home.

    Vallejo Man Killed In Solo Vehicle Crash Wednesday

    A 30-year-old Vallejo man died Wednesday afternoon in a solo vehicle crash south of Napa, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man was driving a 2008 Chevrolet south on State Highway 221 south of Napa Valley Corporate Way in unincorporated Napa County around 4:20 p.m. when he drove off the west side of the road and struck a utility pole, CHP officials said.

    Ron Capps to receive inaugural Eric Medlen award at ...
