Amid thanks, promises and flowers, Jefferson Parish's newly elected officials were inaugurated Wednesday in a ceremony at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. All but one of those inaugurated are old hands when it comes to taking oaths of office: Councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken was the only "newbie" sworn in, as she put it, while the rest of her council colleagues are returning for at least their second term.
