    Patrick Stakenas of Libertyville is president and CEO of Determine Inc. , a software platform provider that helps companies manage their contracts and supplies. He works with his son and cinematographer, Grant Stakenas, to help fund the documentaries, including one called, "Exile by Choice," which aired OnDemand with Comcast and Cox Cable last year.

    Lake County getting first explosive detection dog

    Lake County will receive its first explosive detection police dog through funding from an animal charity's donation, Lake County Sheriff's officials announced Thursday. Undersheriff Raymond J. Rose said Libertyville-based D.A.S. Charitable Fund for the Preservation of Feline Animal Life has provided $34,413 for the purchase and training of the dog.
