    City of Kalamazoo in settlement talks with Jacob Gra...

    The city of Kalamazoo is in settlement talks with the estate of Jacob Grassley , 34, who was shot and killed by police in January 2013, over a wrongful death lawsuit . Following a closed-door session, the Kalamazoo City Commission on Monday voted unanimously to authorize Kalamazoo City Attorney Clyde Robinson to offer a settlement with the estate over the lawsuit, which was filed in federal court in December 2014.

    Zip-line accident kills Michigan native

    Marsha Ann Boekeloo, 56, of Rio Rancho, N.M., died Oct. 15 just hours after she fell 20 feet from a zip line at Haciendo Campo Rico, a 2,300-acre park near San Juan, according to a report published Wednesday in the Albuquerque Journal . According to the report in the Albuquerque Journal, Boekeloo was conscious after the fall, which occurred at about 11 a.m. on Oct. 15, but she was unable to move her legs and complained of chest pains.

Richardson St. Andrew died Oct. 15 near Marcellus, along with Brandon Mark VanWalbeck, 21, and Hunter Jewel LaRose, 16, when a car driven by VanWalbeck left 94thAvenue near 28 A1 2 Street and struck a large tree about 50 feet from the roadway.
