    Harwich man charged in stabbing

    Brian Porter, 32, faces charges of assault on a family member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon , according to court documents. At about 3 p.m fire and police officials found a male family member with a stab wound in his left leg at a home on Surrey Lane, according to police.

    Raymond Bastille remembered as caring and generous

    He may be gone, but friends of Raymond Bastille are remembering a man who, despite years of personal struggles, was always upbeat and inspiring. Bastille's close friend Michaela McCuish, who is also an attorney at the Hyannis law firm of Wynn & Wynn, has started a campaign on the youcaring.com online fundraising site under the heading of "Ray Bastille Funeral/Memorial Service."

    Where: Entertainment Cinemas in Falmouth and South Dennis, Heritage Theaters in Sandwich, Regal Cinemas in Hyannis and Mashpee, Wellfleet Theaters "Insurgent," like its predecessor, "Divergent," has a lot in common with the "Hunger Games" movies. There's the dystopian setting, the gritty youthful heroine, the oppressive government, the division of the masses into distinct groups.

    Mary Dunn Road in Hyannis, connecting the back side of Independence Park to Route 6A, is nearly impassable. As many as 6,000 cars a day use this road, but we are forced to accept the charade that this is a “private” road.

    Like a mighty Cape Cod oak tree, musician Brian Sances has deep roots, and his branches have spread through many music venues around this peninsula since the late 1990s. You may have seen him playing in these local bands over the years: The Shotgun Bandits, From the Ground Up, TRIPL3CROWN, He's now the frontman of the Brian Sances Band and this quartet has taken the stage at places like the Lost Dog Pub and Land Ho! in Orleans and Oliver's and Planck's Tavern in Yarmouth Port.
