    Keith Tandy said he'll be away from the team again this week to attend his nephew's funeral on Saturday. While the Bucs opened their preseason Saturday night in Minnesota, safety Keith Tandy was home in Hopkinsville, Ky., helping his family cope with the tragic loss of his 17-year-old nephew, Jayvon Quarles, who died in an accident on the football field at practice.

    A western Kentucky high school football player died Thursday after he was crushed by a piece of metal football equipment, the Kentucky New Era reported . Jay'Von Quarles, 17, died of blunt force trauma to the head after helping his team set up for football practice at Hopkinsville High School when a football chute struck him in the head.
